Twitter has been banned by the Nigerian government.
Its because one of the governments tweets on twitter got removed on the 16 June 2021. In the tweet the president was speaking about issues with in the country.
He also said that anyone misbehaving today will be treated in any language they understand. Lots of people including Twitter had read that as a threat of violence. Therefore Twitter had deleted that tweet sent from the president why? For violating Twitters rules.
The government claims that the removal of the president’s tweet was not the only reason that he got banned. They say it´s because of inaccurate information spread online.
So Twitter decided to ban Nigeria´s president because they took what the President of Nigeria said in the wrong way and then Nigeria´s president bans because they removed his tweet and then Nigeria´s president banned twitter.
